Who is responsible for your information?

This notice covers our website and service enquiries under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), as amended.

Information we use and why

• Enquiries and quotations: your name, contact details, postcode and the job details you provide. We use these to respond, assess the work and prepare a quotation. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, or our legitimate interest in responding to general business enquiries.
• Electrical work: contact and property details, correspondence, job records and certification information needed to arrange and perform agreed work. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract; applicable statutory records are processed to meet legal obligations.
• Administration and disputes: relevant correspondence and transaction records where needed to meet legal obligations or pursue our legitimate interests in managing the business and establishing or defending legal claims.
• Website security: technical information such as IP addresses, request times and browser details may be processed by the hosting service to deliver and protect the website. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure service.

We receive enquiry information directly from you. Please provide only information relevant to the job and avoid sensitive personal information. Required form fields are needed to handle your enquiry; optional fields are marked. If you do not provide sufficient contact or job details, we may be unable to respond or quote.

Sending an enquiry does not sign you up to marketing. This website does not use advertising trackers, behavioural profiling or automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Who receives information?

Public reviews: when you submit a review, your name, rating, review text and posting date are stored and displayed publicly. A notification is sent to our business email. Please avoid private or sensitive details; contact us if you want your review corrected or removed.

Coverage map: when you open Areas Covered, map images are requested from OpenStreetMap. Those requests share your IP address, browser information and our website origin with its tile service. The map does not request your device location.

Information is used by the people who need it to respond to your enquiry or deliver the service. Our website hosting and email providers process information to support this. Website enquiries sent through our contact service are delivered to our business email using Google's email service. Where necessary for a job or a legal obligation, relevant information may also be shared with certification bodies, professional advisers, insurers or public authorities. We do not sell your personal information.

International processing

Service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this is a restricted transfer, UK data protection law requires an applicable adequacy regulation or appropriate safeguards, such as approved contractual terms, unless a legal exception applies. Contact us for details of the providers, locations and safeguards relevant to your information.

How long information is kept

Enquiry information is needed while we assess, quote for and follow up the requested work. If work proceeds, relevant information becomes part of the job record. The retention period depends on the purpose: completing the work, meeting accounting and certification requirements, dealing with warranty matters, and resolving any complaint or legal claim. Information should be deleted or anonymised when those purposes no longer require it. Contact us for the retention period applicable to your particular record.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your personal information, correction, erasure, restriction of use or transfer of information in a portable format. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. These rights have legal conditions and exemptions.

To exercise a right, email lb@lbelectrical.uk. We may need to verify your identity. Requests are normally answered within one month; if a lawful extension is needed, we will explain why.

Cookies and browser storage

This site uses essential cookies and similar browser storage for security, form feedback and remembering that you have read our cookie notice. It has no optional analytics or advertising cookies. Fonts are served from this website, without contacting Google Fonts.

• lb_cookie_notice (local storage): remembers acknowledgement of this notice on this browser for 180 days. It contains a notice version and expiry time, not your enquiry details. After expiry the notice is shown again; the stored value is replaced when you acknowledge it again or removed when you clear site data.
• csrftoken (cookie, contact service): protects forms against cross-site request forgery. Its default lifetime is approximately one year and it may be renewed when forms are loaded.
• messages (cookie, contact service): temporarily stores feedback such as the outcome of an enquiry submission. It is consumed when displayed, or expires at the end of the browser session.
• sessionid (cookie, where needed): supports server-side sessions, including form feedback that cannot fit in the messages cookie. Its default expiry is two weeks.

These are first-party technologies used for essential functions and do not require opt-in consent. You can block or delete them using your browser settings, although forms or feedback may then stop working. Acknowledging the notice is not consent to marketing or tracking. If optional technologies are added, this notice and the controls must be updated before they are used.
